Bocce has started, a week late, but better late than never! This year there are 20 teams on Thursday and 10 teams on Saturday, teams are split into A & B groups playing one game per week. Just a reminder, dues is $5 per person, please submit your dues to your team captain (the name at the top) and submit to a coordinator in the next 3 weeks. Rules have been tweaked so we are all on the same page, three that were new last year merit review: 1. If the two nearest balls from both teams are equidistant from the pallino after all other balls are thrown, there are NO points awarded to either team. The team who scored in the round prior to the tie would play first the next round. 2. If the pallino goes out of bounds with the first throw, the other team throws the pallino, if it goes out of bounds for them also, a referee or coordinator drops the ball in an inbound area, THEN the team who had scored in the last round shoots first. 3. A thrown ball must hit another ball or the pallino before hitting the backboard, otherwise it is taken out of play. If this ball hits another ball(s) after hitting the backboard, all balls are returned to their original positions. Please call for help if you are unsure of what to do, we’ll work it out! We are working on getting a center line sprayed, waiting for permission from the office and a non-breezy day. Thank you everyone, for being on time, staying to cheer on others, helping to clean up at the end and having such great attitudes, it’s been a pleasure watching you all and learning a thing or two! If anyone is interested to play on a team or be a sub, please contact either Gary Hopple, Sue McGill, John Eaton or Dave Blamer.
